Durham is a city which is located in the north-east of England. The city is near the River Wear. The city is very well known for the Norman cathedral which has been given the title of a World heritage Site by UNESCO in the year 1986.

The whole of the centre of the city has been put under the conservation area. A majority of the buildings are under conservation. University of Durham which has been later named as the Durham University provides post graduate education to the people. This University is about six hundred years old and is the third oldest university in United Kingdom after Oxford University and Cambridge University.
