Swansea is both a city and a county in south Wales. It’s the second largest city in Wales and in the top 30 cities in the UK by population. The city was known as Copperopolis during the Nineteenth Century for its status as a centre of copper mining and refining, as with many UK cities however Swansea is now a primarily administrative and service economy.
