Northampton is a town in the county of Northamptonshire. This town lies on the River Nene. This town is one of the largest towns in the United Kingdom without the status of a city. The town was a major centre of shoe making and leather industries in the country. Engineering gained popularity in the post war time with a number of companies setting up base in this town.
