St Helens is a large town in Merseyside, England. At present it has a population of about 177,000 approximately. The Industrial Revolution played a significant in the development of the area with mining and glass making playing a pivotal role in the development of the economy of the area. A commercial town, this place at present attracts a lot of tourists for its rich history.

Another notable personality is Richard Seddon, who went on to become Prime Minister of New Zealand. In fact he holds the record of being the longest serving Prime Minister.
