Property types in South Shields

A coastal town, South Shields is one of the popular seaside resorts of England. With a population of 83,000 people, this town is the second largest populous centre. Home to many landmark buildings and other properties, this place has the ever famous sculpture Spirit of South Shields that was installed in the year 1998. Sculpted by Irene Brown this sculpture is the perfect symbol of the town’s maritime heritage.

As far as transportation is concerned this area is well connected by the A19 trunk road that ensures that the place is properly connected to the rest of England.

As the oldest and the largest, seaside resort, this place is a major tourist attraction area and is often projected as the Catherine Cookson Country. A lot of the revenue of this area depends on tourism. Although employment rate is quite high and is estimated to be about 7.5% the growing importance as a major commercial centre and tourist destination has ensured a steady flow of income for this region.

This place also hosts the South Tyneside magic festival that is organized by Martin Duffy. An annual event, this show is attended by the World’s best Magicians. This event started from the year 2004.
