Glasgow is the largest city in Scotland and with almost 600,000 inhabitants it’s also the third largest in The UK. The city is located on the banks of the river Clyde in central Scotland, 45 miles west of Edinburgh. Glasgow has a rich industrial heritage as a centre of shipbuilding and heavy engineering and has the second best economic growth rate in the UK behind London.

In terms of housing, Glasgow is known for its tenement terraced houses which have high ceilings and used to house migrant workers during the city’s boom period when migration from the countryside and Ireland was at a peak.

The city has famous and passionately supported football and rugby teams and hosted the Commonwealth games in 2014.

As the economic hub of Scotland with affordable housing and plenty of cultural activity, Glasgow has a lot to offer as long as you don’t mind rain.
